How to Adjust the Settings on a Monitor

When you stare at a computer screen for upwards of eight hours per day, the monitor settings factor heavily into your daily life. Adjusting the monitor settings not only gives you better readability, but eliminates headaches, and prevents computer vision syndrome.
First: Adjusting the resolution
To adjust your resolution, go to your desktop and right-click in a clear area. A drop-down menu appears and from that, select "Properties." Follow this to the "Settings" tab (usually the last tab), and from here, adjust the screen resolution. There is usually a drag bar on the right that tells you the screen pixellation. Drag from left to right to adjust to your personal level of comfort. The color quality menu exists right alongside this, and adjusting the color quality along with the screen resolution should reduce discomfort.
Second: Adjusting monitor brightness
How bright your monitor is greatly affects your eyesight, especially if you are prone to migraine headaches. To adjust monitor brightness, look at the physical buttons along the bottom of your monitor. Press the button that looks like a menu or list, and using the + and - buttons, follow to a menu titled "Brightness & Contrast." With this menu, select customized levels of brightness and the contrast of the colors on the screen. Using the + and - buttons again, follow to select either "Brightness" or "Contrast," and adjust left to right depending on your comfort level. Move the cursor back to the "Exit Menu" symbol to exit.
